Midlands Cockroach Extermination
Protecting Your Health and Safety
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) reports that one out of every five children in the U.S. has severe sensitivities to cockroach allergens, which increase the severity of asthma symptoms.
These allergens are most commonly introduced in homes through cockroach saliva, droppings and the decomposing bodies of these pests.
- American cockroaches have been reported to spread at least 33 kinds of bacteria, six kinds of parasitic worms, and at least seven other kinds of human pathogens.
- They can pick up germs on the spines of their legs and bodies as they crawl through decaying matter or sewage, and then carry these into food or onto food surfaces.
- Recent medical studies have shown that cockroach allergens cause lots of allergic reactions in children.
Our Plan for Cockroaches

Our professional technicians have the expertise to first assess the situation and then implement the appropriate plan of action based on the need. We treat your home with the utmost respect and utilize all of the resources available to ensure that you are happy with the end result. We will use a combination of long-term residual sprays with baits and gels and traps when necessary. We do it right, the first time!
Cockroaches have been around since the time of the dinosaurs. As a matter of fact, these insects are incredibly hardy. They generally prefer warm, dark, damp environments. Needless to say, it is incredibly important that action be taken immediately to rid your home of cockroaches the moment you see them. The reason why is because some female cockroaches can remain pregnant forever and produce up to 150 offspring per year.
Bug sprays that you can buy at the local hardware or dollar store do not have what it takes to effectively eliminate cockroaches from your home. The over-the-counter antidote may seem like a cheap way out of a problem, but it will be a waste of money. These products have nowhere near the residual effect or initial killing power of the pesticides used by Bugman Pest Elimination. It often takes different techniques and a combination of different pesticides to work effectively.
Cockroach Identification Guide
What types of cockroaches are you seeing in your home? Use the below information to help you identify your pests.
Oriental cockroaches, Blatta orientalis (L.), are large, very dark (almost black, but sometimes dark reddish-brown), shiny cockroaches that live in sewers and similar wet, decaying organic matter. They are sometimes called "water bugs" because they come out of drains, and "black beetle cockroaches" because of their smooth, dark bodies. Males are about 1 inch long, with wings that cover only about 3/4 of their abdomen; females are about 1 1/4 inch long, and have only short stubs of wing pads.
Brown-banded cockroaches get their name from the two lighter bands they have across their dark-brownish bodies. In addition to the distinctive banding, males have full wings, which reach beyond the tip of their rather pointed abdomens, but females have underdeveloped wings, much shorter than their broad, rounded abdomens. The lighter band markings are much more distinct in nymphs than in adults of either sex.
The German cockroach is by far the most important and usually the most common of the cockroaches. In addition to being a nuisance, the German cockroach has been implicated in outbreaks of illness and allergic reactions in many people. This species has worldwide distribution.
American cockroaches (aka “Waterbugs” and “Palmetto bugs”)
The American cockroach is the largest of the house-infesting cockroaches.
